Our Commitment to the Environment

Automobile repair is a dirty business, there is no getting around that. At Glen Oaks Automotive we do our best to be as environmentally friendly as possible. We recycle most of the waste that we produce. Cardboard packaging, paper, bottles, cans, tires, oil filters, oil, and antifreeze are all recycled. Old metallic car parts such as brake pads, rotors, exhaust parts, and radiators are scrapped so that they can be recycled into new products. The lights in the less used rooms in the building, such as the restroom, are equipped with occupancy detect switches so the lights automatically turn off went the room is empty, thus saving electricity. Further in the spirit of Reduce/Reuse/Recycle, our parking lot is lined with planters made from junk tires planted with live annuals that add some color to the lot during the warmer months. It is just the nature of the business that no auto shop can be completely green, but at Glen Oaks Automotive we do what we can where we can.
